very nice!

this is a very well made puzzle game. simple on the surface but requires sufficient planning. i'm only on a relatively early level but i dont want to forget to write a review for it :P.

i just think it's a massive shame that you submitted it on a day with 4 submissions over 4.2, leaving yours with only a chance of daily 5th, when it deserves much more, in reality it should get daily top 2 and front page so i feel a bit gutted for you. but realise you've created a great game which will keep my brain occupied for a while :P. i love the simplicity of what's there but how that simplicity can make a difficult mind boggling game that ends up taking a fair bit of brain power to complete so seriously VERY well done :D

okay

it wasn't too bad, but it wasnt good either. you made the navigation easy which is always a good thing, and you put some of the basic stuff in, however, alot more is needed really.

your design page isnt too bad, and although im sure it could be better, i cant really give any advice on how to improve it...

the moves page though...it scans over the basics, but there needs to be so much more detail in order to be good. all you did on the second page of it was show the actual move, like the frame of the hit, not how to do it. it doesnt greatly help. and honestly, i didnt think the punch example was that good, i went through it frame by frame, and obviously watched it through a few times. the sticks jumping in the canvas looked okay, but when it came to the punch, it wasnt very good at all to be honest:

firstly, contrary to what you said, i dont think the blackness was needed. and the movement leading up to the punch and the punch itself wern't very good. he stayed in the exact same stance for too long (just moving forward a bit each frame). looking at it, all you did was make him jump in the air (which was fine) but then you made him stay the same for a good four or so frames, what you need to do, is even when he's staying in the same position, still redraw him anyway, honestly it makes it look better. then when it came to the punch all it was was him in the same position as before, except this time he had his arm stretched with some sudden blur and blackness which made it hard to know what he was doing (and i think neither the blur or the blackness were necissary, especially for the amount of frames that the blur was shown). the punch frame needs to be fully redrawn from the last frame. he needs to lean into the punch more, i dont know, its hard to explain, but it just didnt look right, and therefore isnt really great for a tutorial, it looked like it had hardly any impace, which isnt good for a section showing impact.

you didnt say how to do the effects and when to use them effectively which is something that i would think is important in an animation like this.

the background section was far too simple, it needs more showing of how to draw backgrounds etc

overall it was okay, but needs alot of improvement and is really too basic. but not a bad start anyway, just improve on it. i just cant see it helping greatly since its too basic. but it at least tells you whats good and what to do so it might help some people. it could use more example videos next time.

hope i didnt seem too harsh, just trying to give advice :)

Hello,

wow, thanks for the excellent review. i was not expecting this lenght. Thank you.

Ok so just to recap a litle, its a tips and tricks followthrough and of course I understand what you mean, I touched but the tip of the iceberg. You've encouraged me to do a bigger and better one. I'll add all of those litle details for the next ones to come.

Thanks again St3lf

hard

i found it quite difficult cuz people just come at random and it sometimes gives you literally no chance to save all of them. not a bad effort though...

pretty cool :)

i must say, i didn't really like the first two, they didnt really have enough deaths and i found them a bit monotonous. but i enjoyed this one, the timer may have been a bit long. and i dont know if its intentional, but everytime you kill yourself, the timer jumps back a tiny bit which gives you a bit of exra time. this one has plenty more deaths than what you originally started out with in stickicide 1 which honestly makes it far more fun. especially on my first run of it, it was cool discovering the new ways to die. however, like i mentioned previously, the timer may be a bit long, and also its not something i could play alot, but its still fun whilst you play it, but after you finish, you're like 'that was pretty cool, but im not doing it again'. but nonetheless, good effort and much better than the other ones...and you're fantastic at animating explosions, i wish i could animate them like that :p

like other people have said, if you make more, expand on the idea, make goals to achieve etc, but well done anyway :)

addictive and great

it's awesome. what makes it even better is that there are more variables...in most 'throw it' games, you throw a ball or something else, hope you do a good throw/ get a good hit, and then just hope you hit as many explosives or whatever as possible...but here you have some sort of control (using the balloons) and you have to time the power bar right in order to get thrown as far as possible (this gets much harder as the game goes on), not to mention that you have to have a good rythm etc to throw him good at the very start. so yeah, possibly the best throwing game ive seen. and (under the name fitzy...which is my other alias) i am ranked 35th with a score of 238613 so i think thats pretty good :).

great game, well done!

Exellent

i used to love this game on my old mac, but we got rid of it. then i found this, its an exellent remake and brilliant game. should have got a MUCH higher score and front page.

well done

cool

its an exellent game. just a few things i don't like.

1: the fact that you have to start again each time you fail in the competition, i'd like to just restart at the 1 i was on, or at least have chech points every 5 or so levels.

2: the time limit makes it very hard, which could be portrayed as good or bad, but just an extra 30 seconds would still make it challenging but not frustrating.

so yeah, i don't like that you have to always restart and the time limit is a bit too short.

but besides that, well thought out, fun game.

too easy

once you beat the first 2 castles its too easy, and you feel like your going nowhere because every castle seems the same cause you just do the same thing with every one and its infinate so you dont get a good feeling out of defeating a castle cause theres just gonna be more of the same thing (same castle, one extra arrow).

also, the so called 'better' units that you can only get once youve completed a certain number of levels are pretty crap. you can only afford a few of them and they all get killed in the first arrows, they should be cheaper and resist more attack.

i would suggest making there a limited number of levels but make them challenging, they could start using different weapons, sending their own out. make a campaign and improve it and it would be a game worth playing.

you pretty much just took invasion (the game by the guy who made commando 3) and made it in your way didnt you..it would be much betetr if you used the suggestions i said...

korbling

korbling you dumbass, if opther people can, you can, read the friggin instructions, when 1 or your soldiers dies click him in the bottom right and he comes back...you need enough money to do so, dont give a bad review untill you look at the full thing.

on another note...this r0x0r5

the 'Stelf' stands for 'STE' 'L'ee 'F'itzpatrick. Xiao style 3, coming soon!
